To list the foreign flora that's abundant in America today (much of it dating back to the Pilgrims & earliest settler's habit of dumping the chaff they used to pack breakables prior to departing for the New Land) would no doubt open many eyes and burst many tourism bubbles - and our area would certainly be one of them.

While "Land of the Braken Fern" etc. translations might be accurate, probably such a miniscule percentage of people would care, and more would complain about the change, it seems rather insignificant at this late date. Besides, we have bigger fish to fry in this county: economic, social and environmental issues that are far more important.
