Though the argumnets put forth here are very strong, almost conclusive, for changing the official flower, the powers that be will never allow the subject to even come to a vote unless there is a public uprising about the subject. That will never happen, because residents want to hold on to the sentimentality of the story, rather than care enough about the truth to set the record straight.
If I'm wrong, then let's see citizens speaking up and spreading the word.
