Definition: Innuendo - Hint, Insinuation
"A veiled or equivocal reflection on character or reputation."

Your post seems to 'Hint' and 'Insinuate' that my statements are misleading, which, in itself, is a fine example of Innuendo, so please don't throw stones! You are certainly entitled to your opinions, just don't confuse them with the facts.

Far from equivocating, I am directly stating my findings:
(a) The Bullthistle is not native to this country, so Native Americans could have no knowledge of it before the European arrived.
(b) It is an invasive species as defined by the department of agriculture.
(c) It is problematic in the natural environment, displacing native species, and there are campaigns to eradicate it.
(d) The facts about it's history, habitat, and methods for destruction were gathered from recognized environmental organizations.

Your sarcastic reference to Dandelion, and Mustard, is very ironic, as both of those plants are also not native plants, but came over with the same settlers from Europe. On that basis, I would not support either of them as the county flower. [snicker]

My insertions of humor were obvious and just a light hearted example of my view of the facts. Hey, lighten up, don't take all this so seriously. I believe that sharing different opinions, and offering a forum to debate such issues is very good for any community, that's why I created this bulletin board to allow anyone to express their view.

The historian, which I referenced, was kind enough to allow me to name her. Dolores Elliott is well known for her knowledge of Iroquois Culture. She heads the Iroquois Studies Foundation and is the director of the yearly Otsiningo Pow Wow & Indian Craft Fair, in Otsiningo Park, Binghamton.
